As councils across London plan a ban or levy on throwaway shopping bags, the Design Museum shop leads the way, encouraging people to opt for this strong, eco-friendly version and make a difference for just one pound!

Every year Londoners use over 1.6 billion bags. While some may be reused once or twice, only one in 200 are recycled, the rest ending up in landfill sites. Some plastic bags take 400 years to break down.

The Design Museum Shop does not profit from the sale of these bags, but we wish to encourage people to reuse shopping bags and carry spare ones with them wherever they go.
