Drawing inspiration from street life, the brothers FERNANDO AND HUMBERTO CAMPANA combine found objects - such as scraps of wood and fabric off-cuts - with advanced technologies to create a definitively Brazilian approach to design. Neither brother intended to be a designer. Humberto, born in Rio Claro in 1953, studied law, but began making furniture in the 1980s after Fernando, born in Brotas in 1961, had graduated in architecture. Together they have established an international reputation as Latin America’s leading designers.
